great video, great shed, great dad
I dig your channel. Man after my own heart.
At 6:53 it looks like you've got 2 x 4s laying low then a bt ater in teh vid there is no rafters at al then a bit later again theres 2 x4s sitting high. Did you have a redesign there and redo the roof rafters for some reason?
Thanks man.I will try that tomorrow .I had 6 with 1 8 ponit looking at my feeder with a blank look on there face because mine was doing the same thing your's was doing
What router bit is that?
i'm building one very similar to this - on a gradent too - i was thinking of putting down 4 sheets of plywood as my top floor instead of 20 pieces of 2x6 - to save money ($40 V $300). What do y'all think about that?
Yeah I understand the cost savings but the reason for the floor how I did is to allow for air flow from underneath to help dry out wood or keep wood dry, that and added strength because firewood is heavy
@@FrankDoesIt nice job. how long did it take all up? I'm on Day 5 and only starting the wall now, but i'm a bit slow lol
@@emelle1283 thanks a lot! I think it took a couple weekends but it’s been years since I built it
What's the size of that shed I whant to build one 16 by 12 I really like that design thanks for sharing
Thanks so much! It’s 9x9 and 8’ high in front of
Caught 3 during the early spring. Have one now but won't go in trap 😂😂 other three no problem this one not yet
Nice! Yeah some of them are smarter than others I’ve learned!
Great job
Thank you so much!
She is adorable
Thank you so much!
Love it brother - well done! One question though....do you burn pine in the casa? I'd think the pine tar would be a mess.
Thanks so much! Yeah in an enclosed stove, it’s not bad for us because I clean the chimney every year, I prefer not to burn it but it does alright
Wow! Sweet woodshed! Thanks for sharing! I just cut up and hauled home 6 cords of free oak and my woodshed isn't big enough for it all! For now the over flow will go on pallets but I'd really like to build another woodshed!
Heck yeah buddy that’s a score! Thank you!
I think you could park your tractor on that deck wow! Looks sturdy!
Hahaha heck yeah! Thank you!
Hey Frank, I'm looking to build myself a wood shed at my cottage. Yours looks like it would work just fine. How much wood will it hold? Full chord or face chord. Would you be able to send me drawings for this? Thanks!
Very nice! It holds 3.5 cord of wood cut to 16”. Yeah I’ll send you the Sketchup file, send me an email to frank@frankdoesit.com and I’ll get it to you as soon as I can
Beautiful woodshed, beautiful family. God is good! Two questions: How many cord do you estimate this design holds? Have you experienced any sinking of feet over the few years you’ve been running this shed? I was assuming I’d need to pack the hole and level with gravel but maybe I don’t?
God is good! Thank you so much! It holds 3.5 cord and I haven’t had any sinking at all but all the virgin soil it is on is decomposed granite, but yeah I haven’t had any issue with the deck foundation blocks 🙌🏼
@@FrankDoesIt Cool, thanks for the reply! I think I’ll put this on my summer project list. I appreciate you making the videos, super helpful.
@@PD-iu9bn heck yeah buddy you’re welcome!
Good job, dude. Good presentation. I like it.
Thank you so much! I greatly appreciate it!!
Why didn't you show the front on how you release him? Was your camera man too scared to take a shot from the front?
You open it the same way I showed at 0:19
White Oak Lazy Susan turned out great man! 👍🏼
Thanks buddy I appreciate it!
Now i have to clean the garage again so i can make a mess making a Lazy Susan
Yep that’s the joys huh!? 😂
white oak What a great build! It turned out fabulous!
Thank you so much! I truly appreciate it!
*white oak* Good job bro! Great idea to lube up the lazy susan hardware before install! I learned that the hard way, lol. Had to take it apart and lube it up.... now I always "pre lube" them! 😅
Hey buddy thanks a ton! Heck yeah I think it’s the way to go! Cheers!
WOW!!! You sure have a way of NOT GTTING TO THE POINT !!!! WASTSE OF MY TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m sorry you feel that way. Have a good day
Nice work! Great jig!
Thank you so much! I greatly appreciate it!
How have I never thought of using the table table wing for the circle. I have always did a sketchy jig for the table saw. Awesome, vid!
Heck yeah buddy it works great! Thanks bud, I appreciate it!
How many teeth are you using on your table saw blade?
The gold one that I use for ripping is a 40 tooth blade 🤙🏼
Well done!! it was great to see family helping each other. One day you will be able to look back at these videos and enjoy the greatest moments seeing your family. I liked the sanding portion the most with your setup. How much did you take off on each run during the heavy grit? and on the lite grit?
Thank you so much! It’s a joy to get the little ones involved! I always just go down very incrementally on the sanding, I’m not sure the exact amount I was taking off, you can kind of gauge it by listening to what the machine is doing, if you are taking way too much, the noise will tell you. I want to hear a very gentle sanding and not a bogging.
Beautiful thanks for the tutorial I just love your work
Thank you so much Keith! I greatly appreciate it!
Older video but I enjoyed it and learned a lot. Any idea what length boars you started out with?
Thank you so much! For these thick cutting board I usually start with at least 48” stock
@@FrankDoesIt that helps alot. Thank you!
@@hcamardelle absolutely! You’re welcome!
Bad ass work
Thank you so much!!
I checked on my feeder and the lighted read out was not working. I have replaced the batteries and when fully engaged the spinner goes wild. If I hadn't taken it off the bowl all the corn would have flown out. I can't get the spinner st stop by pushing the buttons. Any recommendations???
Oh man! I’m sorry that’s happening! I have no idea, sorry
Yessir 😂. We take pride in our work.
Hahah yeah buddy!
Great video brother. Love having the kids in the shop as well. Cutting board looks awesome. Well done 🍻
Thank you my friend! Nothing beats having the kids help out! Cheers!
Sweet, this is THE video I was looking for, only one I found . I wasn’t about to drop $100 on a special trap or sneak up with something to throw over. His days are numbered!!! Thanks!
Heck yeah buddy go get him! Glad it was of help!
This trap is 100 bucks in Canada and that tarp is another 30 bucks..
@@tazdevil6934 where I live you can get 2 of these traps for $40 and a tarp for $8 or less at harbor freight
One recommendation i would make is scrape your excess glue so it doesnt gum up your sanding belts.
Thanks for the recommendation! I hate scraping glue and the 60 grit sandpaper doesn’t seem to be affected by it much. I’d rather replace the paper once in a while than scrape the glue but that is just my preference
@@FrankDoesIt but it is easier to scrape glue when it is dry after a few hours but not cured over night.
@@brucemiller1696 for sure! What would be best is to wipe it off before it dries, I choose the ease of removing it with the drum sander since I have to flatten the board any how
@@FrankDoesIt 👍
Badass bench and fence. Geez, couldn't you have picked better music? AI composed, computer synthetic autotune garbage.
Thank you so much! Sorry you didn’t care for the music. Can’t cater to everyone’s taste in music at the same time
It's an awesome music, when the artists had to be creative, Aí kills creativity Keep up man 👍
@@Aldemar02 thank you so much!
What an awesome idea! Super useful.
Awesome ! Loved it all 🎉
Why not draw the outline of the funnel, measure from the edge to the slope of said funnel, draw another box in correlation to that measurement (measure twice cut once), drill starting holes in one of the corners, then use a Jigsaw to cut it out? Fewer steps, more wood to spare.
Your method would definitely work. The main reason I didn’t do it that way is because the lip is no symmetrical all the way around. Doing what I did, I didn’t measure one time and the hole is crisp and clean. There isn’t a lot of room for error inside of the lip so if I didn’t get my jigsaw cut perfect, there would have been a chance of having gaps. Your way isn’t wrong by any means.
@@FrankDoesIt OOOoooooh, I see.
Pretty smart
Thank you so much! Saved a little time 😉
That’s bad ass I love it inspired by it
Thank you so much! This bench is so nice!
That contraption is dangerous, why isnt it longer ?
How is it dangerous? What do you think should be longer?
😮
Such a cool little tool!
Song brought back a trillion memories!!
Heck yeah! For me too!
If they don’t want u stand on the top then they shouldn’t put it there lmao
Hahaha exactly! I like where your head is at! 😆
Thanks for sharing!!
Absolutely!
What a beautiful wholesome moment. This is what America is about.
Thank you so much! I fully agree! Nothing better than being a dad!
The animation gives me the same vibes as that one animation of the kid turning into a watermelon
Hahah very nice! That’s a good vid
@@FrankDoesIt I found the whole style to be obnoxious and uncanny, but to each their own. Edit: shit this is the wrong short isn't it. Ha, I meant to comment on a short about the ending to the secret life of pets
@@droptherapy2085 hahaha ok, I’m no longer offended 😆
Frank what are you screwing those bolts into? What is behind the tin? When are you gonna do a shop tour?
@@DreadKnotWoodshop hey bud! I’m screwing them into 1x4’s that are behind the tin. I’m planning a shop tour soon!
Good job Frank I love the cutting board nice helper
Thank you so much! I greatly appreciate it!
Frank, great job and thank you. Do you have plans available? Or even dimensions? I’d like to try and use full size lumber with least amount of waste. 3.5 cords would be perfect for me. Cheers
Thank you so much for the kind words! It is 9’ x 9’ and 8’ tall in the front. Send me an email frank@frankdoesit.com and I’ll hook you up with the Sketchup file. It isn’t plans, but you can see dimensions and whatnot
Very NICE!!!!
Thank you so much!
Oh dear you are fantastic!!
Thank you so much, I greatly appreciate it!
I’m trying to figure if it’s worth my time building this sled from MICROJIG. I have a few concerns which I see that you’ve probably dealt with due to your own adaptation. To start with, the front fence. I just don’t know how stable it can be without the front fence. Is that an issue you’ve run across? Also I’ve noticed that you have a sacrificial fence, I’m assuming thats so you can switch it out for the times when you’re cutting a 45 degree angle?? Worth the build?? Looks nice tho, that’s for sure 👍
It’s been a great sled! Yeah I added the front fence because I had the same thoughts, but even without adding it, it is supposed to be held together by the insert. I wanted something a little more permanent and rigid holding it together. Yes, the sacrificial fence was also my adaptation for exactly what you mentioned in your comment. I would say the sled is worth building, I would definitely add the sacrificial like I did 👊🏼
